Is Europe continuing to grow? The future of the European district in Brussels

Many important institutions are located in the European district of Brussels such as the European Parliament, the European Council of Ministers and the European Commission. Today, there are already a large number of expats living in this district. This number will continue to increase in the future.

Great plans for the future

In 2008, the Brussels Region approved a development plan which will make the European district a more attractive place to live, work and visit. The Brussels Region wishes to achieve this by building modern and sustainable offices, investing in more greenery and developing new buildings in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way.

New offices and more green space

For example, shortly one of the highest office towers will be built in Rue de la Loi in Brussels. In 2025 one of the greatest construction projects of Brussels ever will start: the construction of a new megacomplex that will replace the old buildings of the European Commission.

This, and other projects that are planned in the European district, will not only create more job opportunities, the entire quality of living will improve because the plans entail a large amount of attention for more greenery and public spaces.

Do you work in the European district? Then this is the ideal moment to be on the lookout for a rental apartment in this district of Brussels. Before you know it, the district will be so popular that it will become almost impossible to find a nice rental apartment.
